Dare to be Dainty

I know statement necklaces have been all the rage for quite some time now (trust me…I bought into the trend and have my own little collection). But sometimes it is nice to dial back and simplify with some more delicate / dainty pieces of jewelry.

A charming little charm necklace, delicate ring, or stellar pair of studs sometimes do the trick better than a statement piece.

Don’t be afraid to dial it down!

Winter Bags

Classic Q Natasha MARC by MARC JACOBS

Classic Q Natasha
MARC by MARC JACOBS

Your winter bag should be luxe. It should make you ridiculously happy. It should be fun and sophisticated at the same time.

No, your summer / early fall bag will not transition into winter. Sorry…that is like wearing flip flops in the snow. NOPE.

Hunt for durable fabrics that have at least one of the following features:  leather, metallic, bright jewel-tone, shine.

Feel ready? Ok…go out there and find a ‘new friend!’

All Wrapped Up

I have mentioned before that my favorite accessory is far and away – the scarf.

I wear scarves year-round, but with the crisp, coolness of Fall upon us, it is feeling like scarf weather to the max!

Scarves are the best way to add a little interest to a fairly standard outfit. You can play with pattern, texture, color and volume. (Plus, they are super cozy and comfy!)

Here are some adorable scarves out there for the choosing!

Top Picks from Anthropologie (July 2013)

I am typically pretty ‘traditional’ or ‘classic’ when it comes to my style choices. Sometimes this can morph itself into ‘boring’ without intention. When I realize that this is happening, I encourage myself to explore a few out-of-the-box, more unique statement pieces. Nothing too crazy, I want to maintain my personal aesthetic), but I think it is healthy that we all do that — challenge our fashion instincts and give them a gentle shake-up. It keeps things exciting!

No one wants to find oneself in a fashion drought.

I have always admired women who can rock looks from Anthropologie. There is something so effortless chic, and yet whimsical and glamorous at the same time about their pieces. Anthropologie creates feminine looks that aren’t too fussy. So, in search of inspiration, I found myself doing some online window shopping.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces right now that will transition nicely from summer into fall:

While we’re at it, how about a few killer shoes, too!
(I couldn’t help myself)

So…avoid the drought and branch out!
